Head of Property Accounts, Property Management. Our Client, a well-established property management company who currently manage an extensive portfolio across the South-East region. They are now looking for an experienced property accountant to lead a large team of client accountants, credit controller and accounts payable assistant.

 

The Role: Working closely with the Property Management Director, you will be required fulfil the following duties:

  • Overseeing the service charge, client accounting, audit and purchase ledger functions.
  • Allocating and delegating tasks to ensure timely preparation of the accounts for all Clients.
  • Overseeing the client accountant and service charge accounts as well as the production of client statements, budgets and demands.
  • Overseeing the production of Extended Trial Balances for clients for the production of Service Charge/Company/Dormant Accounts in consultation with the auditor within the appropriate timescales.
  • Attending client meetings with the other accounting staff as and when required.
  • Chairing Accounts Department meetings when required.
  • Liaising with suppliers, bank and lessees and clients.
  • Producing monthly reports for the Directors.
  • Responsible for stats of all the teams within accounts personnel matters including supporting team leaders with return to work interviews following absence and to monitor individuals and teams sickness levels for all the teams in the Accounts.
  • Conducting monthly 121's & Annual PDP reviews with the team leaders.


The Person: To apply, you MUST hold a similar position currently, ideally within a residential property management firm. Strong communication as well as good, solid managerial skills are essential given the level of the position. Experience of property systems and/or other general accounting systems will be highly advantageous. An accounting qualification would be advantageous, however, not a pre-requisite. This is good opportunity for an experienced property professional to continue their career as a Head of Department.
