Sales Ledger Controller

My client is a leading retailer based in Chichester who is seeking a Sales Ledger Controller to join their team on a fixed term contract basis for 9 months. The role will be to manage customers from invoice creation to payment, being responsible for the relationship end to end.

Responsibilities will include:

• Match the purchase order documents against the order in the system, investigate any discrepancies with the planning team, action any amendments and raise customer invoices on a daily basis ensuring the invoices are paid with minimal deductions.
• Ensure all customers pay to terms by reviewing the ledger on a weekly basis and chasing those customers with overdue balances by telephone, email and letter.
• Manage uploads for cash invoice discounting and monthly reconciliations.
• Ensure retail multiples' cash payments are allocated accurately and on a timely basis according to the remittance supplied by the customer.
• Investigate and resolve any queries on a timely basis.
• Ensure that all debit notes are logged and approved on a timely basis.
• Undertake regular housekeeping of accounts to ensure credit and debit balances are reconciled as required.
• Post bank receipts and payments to SAP for 3 bank accounts.
• Reconcile the bank accounts on a weekly basis.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a couple of years experience in accounts receivable, have worked in a multi site business with a high volume of transactions, have experience of SAP (essential) and excellent numeracy and problem solving skills.

You will also have a high level of customer service and strong Excel and first-class communication and people skills.
