A leading charity based in North West London are looking for a Finance Manager to join their changing finance function. This is a fantastic time to join with plans for expansion going forward into 2017. The role will offer a wide scope of responsibility with the opportunity to progress going forward.

The Finance Manager will report into senior finance management the role will be responsible for the financial controls, financial processes and reporting as well as prepare the annual financial statements and statutory returns. The position will manage a team of 4 direct reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To ensure that financial controls are effective and being complied with throughout
  • To ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely way
  • To prepare a comprehensive monthly management reporting pack including KPI's
  • To ensure that the balance sheet is supported with reconciliations and commentary each month
  • To prepare the annual group Financial Statements and manage the external audit process
  • To prepare quarterly VAT returns, annual tax returns, gift aid submissions and fulfil other regulatory requirement
  • Manage cash flows and forecasts
  • To manage rent and service charges
  • To ensure accurate reporting of Capital Expenditure and subsequent reporting against approvals
  • Assist in the preparation of forecast and budget processes
  • To project manage system developments
  • To manage and develop the Finance team

The successful Finance Manager will:

  • Be a qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA or overseas equivalent
  • Have working knowledge of technical accounting (including FRS102)
  • Have experience of preparing annual group Financial Statements
  • Have working knowledge of VAT
  • Have advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Experience in the charity or social housing sector is
