Payroll Trainee - Entry Level Opportunity 
Banbury, Oxfordshire

As a skilled provider of accounting, tax and business services including outsourced finance functions and payroll, our client is an Accountancy Age Top 100 UK Accounting Practice that is currently experiencing significant growth. As such, they are now looking for a Payroll Trainee to join their team.

You’ll have the chance to attend training courses to increase your payroll knowledge and build an in-depth understanding of industry best practice, making this the ideal role in which to realise your full potential. 

As a Payroll Trainee, you’ll be tasked with supporting the Payroll Team and ensuring that clients receive a high quality service. 

In this diverse role, you’ll learn how to apply HMRC regulations to payroll processing and increase your understanding of the STAR payroll system and BACS payments. 

Throughout your training, you will support the preparation of clients’ weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual PAYE in a consistent and timely manner. 

You’ll forward customers’ PAYE related mail and assist with auto enrolment activities. Additionally, you’ll address any problems and escalate them to your Manager when necessary. 

Interested? Whilst no experience is necessary, to be considered, you must have: 

- A high level of IT literacy, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
- Accurate data inputting skills 
- At a minimum, A Levels (or equivalent) 

As a Payroll Trainee, you must have a professional telephone manner and a great eye for detail. Enthusiastic and eager to learn, you must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

Previous work experience gained within a commercial environment would be beneficial to your application, but is by no means essential. 

Please note, this role represents an excellent opportunity to embark on a payroll career, but is not suitable for those seeking an accountancy role. As such, our client is only seeking to hear from candidates interested in payroll.
