Your new company - One of the largest savings organisations in the UK with over 25 million customers and more than £135 billion invested is looking for an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer on a permanent basis.

Your new role - Reporting into the Head of Risk, the Risk and Compliance Officer will contribute to the delivery of the organisation's annual assurance plan and consistent assurance reporting across the business to communicate the issues that arise from the assurance activity, with recommended remedial action to policy owners/business units and governance forums to manage the risks identified. You will also be responsible for monitoring the external environment to identify emerging risks deriving from regulatory and industry developments and provide assurance that the organisation is ready and prepared.

Essential experience - You will have substantial experience within a Financial Services firm, which has included the following aspects:
* Practical experience and understanding of operational and regulatory risks faced by a financial services business
* Writing terms of reference and developing controls and test schedules to undertake compliance reviews
* Undertaking assurance reviews of organisational and operational arrangements
* Writing reports of the activity undertaken, key findings and recommendations and presenting findings to wide ranging audience
* Recording, investigation and analysis of breaches
* Interpretation and application of financial services regulations and industry practise

Essential technical knowledge and skills
* Broad knowledge of Legal and regulatory matters in respect of the Data Protection Act, Money Laundering regulations and the FCA rules.
* Good understanding of the risk management principles, SYSC, BCOBS, Conduct Risk, TCF and industry best practice
* Good communication (both written and verbal) skills.
* Collation and analysis of MI
