Our client, a well-known sports club based in Central London are looking for a Finance Manager to deliver high quality financial information across the business. They have firmly established their iconic brand over a number of years due to their service, focus and commitment, and thus, the business is on track for yet another successful year. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will be working within a fast paced environment, whilst supervising a small team.
This is an excellent opportunity as the Finance Manager will responsible for the day to day finance team and will be adding value by delivering accurate and timely financial data to influence and contribute to decision making and business planning throughout the business, whilst considering controls and process improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monthly management accounts for the various events at the sports club
- Preparing the year-end audit files and VAT returns
- Analysing variances and providing commentary to the senior stakeholders
- Ensuring the tax returns are completed on time
- Managing the cash office during various events
- Reviewing the monthly bank reconciliations
- Involved with preparing the budgets and forecasts
- Attending meetings with the senior management team to discuss and present the financials
- Ensuring the controls and processes are continually being improved and streamlined
- Supervising a small team and conducting appraisals
The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). You will have trained within industry or an accountancy firm and will be looking for your first or second move within industry. You will have strong commercial acumen and experience of working within sports, retail, events or hospitality. The ability to manage a small team, influence and communicate clearly with stakeholders is key as well as manipulating data to provide analysis to aid the decision making process.
