The Role

We are looking for a high calibre Finance Manager who can support the Financial Controller in the day to day running of the team. The candidate must be highly motivated, a commercial thinker and demonstrate high levels of initiative and ownership. This person will manage a team of eight people with responsibility for Accounts Payable, Cashiers and Accounts Receivable teams and some Management Accountants.

Job Functions:

  • Take full ownership of and have a detailed understanding of all roles within the Cashiers, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments ensuring robust controls and processes
  • Take a leading role in the integration of the Finance teams of our UK and European businesses
  • Lead all aspects of future strategy for the department
  • Identify value added processes and areas of cost reduction, focus on results to make an impact on the business
  • Manage the relationship with our merchant acquiring provider, our cash collection provider and our banks
  • Preparation of daily cash flows and the managing of short term/daily investments (actual and forecast)
  • Manage the relationship with HSBC and be responsible for administration of HSBC payments and key suppliers
  • Responsibility for the process of reimbursing franchisees for on-line payments
  • Team Responsibilities – Develop, motivate and retain a team of eight.
  • To communicate with team in areas such as 1:1’s, IDPs & Reviews
  • Help to build a World Class finance function

Cashiers – Ensure store level cash is bank and any instances of fraud are highlighted

  • Ensure timely banking and reconciliation of store cash (and card payments)
  • Reconcile online transactions and remit to Franchisees (online sales c.£75M per annum)

Accounts Payable – Ensure suppliers are paid on time and creditor balance is managed

  • Manage setup and payment of supplier invoices
  • Work with budget holders to ensure all invoices are received and correctly accounted for

Accounts Receivable – Ensure collections are made from Franchisees in a timely manner (c.£20M per annum)

  • Ensure accuracy of periodic invoicing to Franchisees
  • Identify any potential risks of non-payment from Franchisees and escalate appropriately

Management Accountants (Fixed Costs) – Ensure fixed costs are correctly accounted for

  • Management and analysis of rent, rates, service charge, insurance, depreciation
  • Management of the Fixed Assets Register (additions, disposals, depreciation)

What we are looking for at Pizza Hut Europe

  • 6 years + Finance experience within a medium to large multi-site Retail organisation
  • 3 years + Supervisory experience with strong team & management skills
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards or a similar accounting system
  • PC literate, good Excel skills & experience of Microsoft Word
