Your new role
Your Financial Controller role is effectively the number one in finance leading a large team of 10 and reporting to the Senior Management team. Team management will be key to your role. The ability to coach and communicate downwards as well as present and liaise upwards is imperative, and you'll be required to work across the different technical teams getting involved in various ad hoc projects. Day to day there will be review of work on both the management reporting and statutory side, in addition to budgeting, forecasting and financially supporting strategic board decisions.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have strong academics and be a qualified accountant, ideally obtaining your ACA or equivalent from a recognised accountancy practice. After taking a move out of practice, you will now have experience of working within the construction, property, or consultancy in a related industry, with experience of leading a large team. You'll also have excellent communication skills and the energy and charisma to fit into this high calibre environment.
