OUR CLIENT is a successful niche strategic adviser on commercial real estate projects, who specialise in unlocking the hidden potential of real estate assets through considered yet highly creative asset management strategies. As a result of a recent restructure and planned growth, they have exclusively instructed us to help them identify a suitably qualified Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join them in a newly created role.

THE PRIMARY ROLE: The new position is a sole charge role and will support the Board and the business generally with the successful incumbent assuming control of the 'books' , beginning with the selection of accounting software (likely to be shrink-wrapped) and setting up a chart of accounts for the new LLP.

Once in the role, the responsibilities will include , but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining a full set of accounts to ETB and Statement of Income and Balance Sheet level.
  • Managing, maintaining and reconciling the company bank accounts.
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger including processing invoices, maintaining supplier accounts and managing the authorisation and payment process, including subcontractor payments.
  • Managing company expenses and credit cards and related documentation and disbursements.
  • Raising fee invoices and collecting receivables.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the monthly salaries in conjunction with the outsourced payroll bureau.
  • Completing VAT returns / reports.
  • Maintaining a 'real time' rolling income and cash flow forecast with commentaries.
  • Liaising with the firms accountants at audit and year end.
  • Handling insurance renewals, government returns and statistics and any other ad hoc financial management tasks required by the business.

THE FUTURE ROLE: It is expected the role will expand to involve provision of in-house SPV accounting for client projects, which role may, in due course, include supervision of additional bookkeeping staff.

THE PERSON: To apply, it is envisaged that you will be qualified by experience or through technical tertiary education and experience, (although those with professional accountancy qualifications will be considered) and possess diverse, 'hands on' experience in all aspects of accounts and bookkeeping to Trial Balance / Financial Statement preparation stage and be capable of budget and target monitoring and reporting, cash-flow reporting and general financial office management tasks as required.

You will also possess excellent communication skills and possess a calm and mature demeanor with a 'can do' attitude and eye for detail. Ideally, you will be used to working in a smaller business and on one's own initiative.

Please note that due to volume we cannot get back to everyone, however every application is looked at and considered and will be held on Trident International's database for review. If you have not heard back from us within 5 working days you should assume your initial application has been unsuccessful, however if suitable roles arise in the future we will make every effort to contact you.
