Interim Lead Accountant

A fast paced and growing software/technology business is looking for an Interim Lead Accountant to join their team, based London, £325-£375 per day.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participate in the month and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department including reviewing other team members' work. Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with US GAAP.
• Responsible for compiling, and interpreting financial information and support for the corporate finance department and implementing internal controls and compliance initiatives.
• Statutory accounts and corporate tax activities.
• Various project and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions. Aid internal customers in compiling financial information; provide technical advice and analytical support.
• Serves as leader on assigned research projects: establishes work plans and time lines. In some cases leads/directs a staff, planning, assigning and reviewing work activities and final products as necessary.

Key candidate requirements:

• Qualified accountant
• Strong technical (GAAP/FRS) and financial accounting expertise. US GAAP experience is highly advantageous
• Background in understanding and application of software revenue accounting literature an asset
• Previous experience of working with non-finance teams
• Oracle system experience is highly desirable
• Team player, driven to hit deadlines
• Self-starter, motivated and keen to add value
