Year-End Accountant

This Year-End Accountant role will support the Financial Accountant in preparation of statutory accounts. This role will also provide Clear Line of Sight returns for the DCMS consolidated accounts. This role requires a Year-End Accountant to lead the Financial Accounts Team effectively in day to day operations. This role reports to the lead Financial Accountant.

Our client is an NDPB that reports into the Department for Culture Media and Sport. Our client is looking for a Year-End Accountant to support the closure of accounts process. Our client is a growing public body that provides financial and direct support for public organisations and individuals nationwide.

Description

Main Responsibilities:

- Statutory Accounts:

• To assist in the preparation of the draft financial statements
• To ensure that year end is run according to time-frames and efficiently
• To liaise on a daily basis wit external auditors and the finance function during the audit
• To act as the main point of contact for the department that our client reports into

- Month End Process

• To work with the Financial Accountant to prepare the month end closure of accounts
• To prepare the reconciliations of the control accounts
• To ensure all processes are completed timely and efficiently

Profile

The successful candidate:

- ACA, ACCA or CA qualified

- Previous Central Government experience preferred

- A member of a recognised accounting body

- Ability to work independently and in a high pressure environment

- High technical ability and knowledge to operate excel and spreadsheets and adept in financial modelling

- A clear and effective communicator

Job Offer

£200-£300 per day

This role will be for approximately 5 months with a view to extension
