Financial Accounting Manager

Churchill Howard are recruiting a Financial Accounting Manager for a division of a listed manufacturing business based in Birmingham. The Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing the Division’s financial accounting processes and as such, will particularly suit an experienced first or second time mover from a big 4 audit background.  

Responsibilities will include:
•    Managing the statutory accounts process and consolidating figures from site operations to ensure completion to deadlines;
•    Leading on accounting guidance and implementation of new standards across the division;
•    Liaising with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and clean audit;
•    Working with tax and treasury colleagues on areas such as transfer pricing, tax returns, hedging and cash management;
•    Performing a number of audits of operating business, ensuring consistent accounting approach across the division;
•    Supporting ad-hoc analysis and projects for the business.

The person:
To be successful, you will have:
•    A recognised accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) ;
•    A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and consolidation software;
•    Listed business experience including working with overseas subsidiaries;  
•    Foreign exchange experience would be advantageous;
•    Excellent communication skills.
