Commercial Accountant

A long established Sheffield business who have recently experienced increased investment are looking to add a talented individual in a brand new role to work into the Financial Controller. The role is designed to support and develop the Company's internal reporting systems within a SQL environment so as to provide greater insight on operational performance. The individual will be tasked with supporting the Company's financial and management accounting, reporting and control activities and to ensure that they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.

You will work alongside a number of different divisions in the business and be a key part of the organisation as a whole. Some of the key duties will include;
*KPI reporting
*Development and issue of new reports
*Prepare the monthly financial accounts to trial balance.
*Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
*Post foreign currency bank transactions
*Post nominal bank transactions and reconcile bank account on Sage.
*Submit monthly EC sales reports
*Submit intrastat reports as required
*Ensure employees are correctly categorised by cost centre and post payroll journal each month
*Assist in the preparation of monthly operational accounts as required
*Assist with credit control as required
*Post and reconcile the invoice discounting facility
*Delivering KPI information as required and on a timely basis.
*The accuracy and completeness of the accounting records.
*Timely and accurate reporting to all tax authorities as above

The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused Accountant who is interested in adding value to a business and providing key support to the Financial Controller on all aspects of the financial performance of the business.

Experience in a commercially focused environment or manufacturing experience would be desirable but more importantly you must have a driven and focused personality. This would be a great stepping stone for a Part Qualified Accountant or a Qualified Accountant who is looking for a varied role.
