Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Badenoch & Clark are currently working with a well known global organisation based in West Sussex to recruit a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting the successful candidate will have responsibility for the preparation and presentation of the monthly financial results, looking at ways of further developing existing financial reporting and actively looking for ways of improving processes and controls.

This role is key in providing technical finance support to the Head of Finance in a fast moving, global organisation. There is huge potential for development and progression within the business, with a view that the successful candidate will eventually take on the Head of Finance role.

Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of monthly management and statutory financial results; month end close process, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparation of monthly actuals reporting for flash and full close for each of the regions, along with variance analysis and commentary
* Develop financial reporting to meet changing business requirements
* Monthly cashflow analysis and reporting
* Ensure that all accounting and financial control policies are understood and applied.
* Proactively working to improve the financial reporting processes and controls within the function and management of process documentation.
* Where required, deal directly with internal/external auditors, and prepare required reporting/documentation to meet requirements.

Background / Experience
* Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
* Have a background in practice, ideally from within the Top 10
* Strong working knowledge of IFRS / UK GAAP
* Proven experience of working through the month end close process.
* Strong financial reporting background within a large corporate / PLC
* Ability to look at process improvements and implement change
* Excellent communication skills
* Have the ability and drive to want to step up and progress within the organisation
