Key tasks:

1. To receive on the job training of all aspects of NHS Payroll procedures.

2. To work independently on tasks with limited support from management.

3. To undertake office duties including telephone calls, post, scanning, photocopying .

4. Be willing to undertake training.

5. Respond promptly to written queries and liaise with Human Resources and other payroll departments on payroll matters.

Client Details

Large NHS Health Trust in Sussex with several sites is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their busy team.

Description

Based in Sussex and working as part of a large busy in house Payroll team.

As part of the team you will support the delivery of payroll processing work amongst the payroll team. This will include the recording and processing of statutory and contractual data such as starters and leavers.

To be successful in the role you will be required to work as a part of a team and to strict deadlines. But be flexible and able to adapt to change.

The role is sharply focused on outstanding customer service, delivered efficiently and continuous improvement.

The work will include answering written or verbal employee and prospective employee queries and inputting into the Electronic Staff Record payment system.

Profile

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A good understanding of the UK health care system
  • Payroll experience
  • Well-developed IT skills with ability to use full range of relevant financial software.
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills - track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Work in a busy environment
  • Flexible and co-operative approach to work and working with colleagues.
