My client, a well-respected dealership, is keen to appoint an experienced dealership accountant into a permanent role.
You will be working for a centralised accounts function at Head Office, covering 6 sites across the UK, reporting into the Finance Director. You will be fully responsible for the accounting and financial control functions for two of the company’s dealerships.
The Duties:
- Full preparation of the monthly management accounts for two sites
- Full balance sheet account reconciliations
- Preparation and submission of monthly composite to the manufacturer for the two sites
- VAT returns
- Payroll review
- Coordinate and manage periodic stock checks (vehicles & parts)
- Budget preparation
- P11d review
- Authorisation and coding of purchase ledger invoices
- Review of purchase ledger BACS payment submissions
- Day-to-day management of accounts staff in the absence of the senior accountant
- Ad hoc reporting.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in the motor trade, but experienced management accountants from similar industry types will be considered. A full working knowledge of CDK Global Autoline, or ADP / Kerridge would be advantageous. Qualified CIMA or ACCA, QBE considered. You must be able to work towards and achieve tight deadlines and have an "enquiring mind" and be able to challenge operational managers, with excellent communication skills.
