An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Reporting Manager to join our client, based in London

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
-Interpreting new financial reporting requirements, designing the associated external disclosures, owning and ultimately delivering the new disclosure.
-Specifying application guidance and effective data collection mechanisms to collect complex financial information from a large network of reporting sites
-Implementing the necessary control environment to provide assurance over consolidated financial information included in external publications (including analytical review and other appropriate procedures)
-Engage and lead in communication, organisational feedback, training and preparation with regard to accounting changes e.g. new standards, best practice developments etc
-Engage with the business and other stakeholders such as Risk/Change/Treasury to ensure preparedness to meet new requirements from both a business model and systems perspective.
-Solve unstructured accounting issues ensuring complete solutions (process, disclosure, communication) and stakeholder engagement.
-Helping delivering the external financial statements of the HSBC Group within strict deadlines, including preparing the draft financial statements in accordance with reporting requirements and participating in the quarterly close process (analytical reviews etc)

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes/skills:
-Relevant financial reporting experience with a large institution, preferably in a Group capacity
-Fundamental understanding of the external disclosure requirements for a large organisation, preferably a financial institution
-Strong knowledge of IFRSs and awareness of other relevant regulatory and best practice reporting issues (such as FINREP and EDTF)
-Ability to field, analyse and solve unstructured problems/queries and to challenge existing procedures.
-Ability to business partner with subject matter experts in risk and other finance teams on external disclosure requirements.
-Ability to communicate complex financial issues confidently to management and other senior stakeholders both written and verbally
-Ability to design, document and communicate analytical procedures to provide assurance over external financial statements
-Recognised relevant professional financial accounting qualification
