An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a large FTSE business that is prominent in the South West region

Client Details

Our client are one of the market leading providers of UK energy. With the office based in a great South west location they are looking to continue growth plans for 2017 and as a result they want to bring a Finance Business Partner on board to liaise with various departments within the UK business

Description

The main responsibilities within this Finance Business Partner role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Providing Engineering services and support to operational power stations and to support Business Development
  • Developing external business for the provision of Technical Services
  • Support and challenge the performance of the business areas through the combination of financial analysis and commercial knowledge. Facilitate discussion and decision outcomes through the provision of concise, well presented information
  • Prepare reports ensuring accurate reporting of actual expenditure/Income with variance analysis to explain results. Present and discuss reports at Management meetings with Technical Services and Operations Support staff
  • Prepare forecasts and Business Plans ensuring these are aligned to targets/goals
  • Support the Team with preparation of evaluation of new capital Investment projects. Preparation of scheme Papers with particular emphasis on economic evaluation and assessment of risks/opportunities
  • Implement and monitor appropriate financial controls to ensure integrity of financial and operational information, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Build strong working relationships with senior managers and have the technical ability to analyse information and identify the key commercial drivers behind proposals and decisions. Furthermore the ability to challenge assumptions and the ability to communicate concisely and with conviction
  • Transparent and accurate information provided to Finance and Non Finance Management on a timely basis
  • Implement and monitor a range of robust financial controls, avoiding any Audit issues
  • Ability to understand how budgets, forecasts and KPIs work to drive goal congruent behaviours

 

 

Profile

The ideal candidate for this vacancy will have:

  • Financial background (Preferable CIMA / ACA / ACCA)
  • Ability to work with senior staff within the business to ensure strong financial control and improving the understanding of Business Managers of the key financial issues.
  • Analytical skills with an ability to deal with the financial aspects of commercial deals.
  • Strong process orientation, with an ability to design robust reporting frameworks.
  • Experience of interacting and positively influencing non finance managers.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated team player
