Working within the Financial reporting team, supporting the preparation of statutory and regulatory reports and the maintenance of control over the balance sheet reconciliation process, working independently under the control and guidance of the Senior Financial Accountant.

Description

  • Own and deliver accurate and timely elements of statutory and regulatory reporting for approval by senior management in accordance with internal and external procedures and timescales.
  • Implement new statutory, regulatory and capital disclosure and reporting requirements as appropriate, ensuring that all relevant data is captured.
  • Effectively handle questions and queries from senior management in relation to statutory, regulatory and capital reports and processes.
  • Support specific areas of the business, providing a full management accounting service and challenge performance and assumptions made in all decision making, planning and performance measurement activities.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of a strong financial control environment within the Group.
  • Perform and review reconciliations as required.
  • Deputise for Senior Financial Accountant as required.
  • Act as first point of contact for queries from auditors, passing audit queries to Senior Financial Accountant where necessary.

Profile

  • Ability to effectively and accurately operate and maintain complex financial models in line with set procedures. Further ability to develop and test complex models within a controlled environment.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory and statutory reporting requirements and apply them to business situations.
  • Highly numerate with a strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate reporting within tight timescales and deadlines.
  • Able to communicate with other Finance and business colleagues in a concise a professional manner.
  • Good knowledge of people management practices and procedures.
  • Comprehensive people leadership/management skills.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA ir equivalent)

Job Offer

£36,000 - £46,000 (depending on experience) + extensive benefits package

35 hour working week
