Reporting to the UK & EMEA Finance Manager, supporting internal and external reporting and such as is required to be involved in the financial aspects of a variety of revenue and cost issues.
Provide support to finance and non-finance initiatives and projects working alongside other teams.

Global pioneering organisation who have seen exponential growth in the last number of years. Producing and supplying additives for fuel and lubricants to the market through research and development. Delivering a wide range of fuel additives that enhance existing fuel properties (such as cold flow and lubricity) and bring unique performance features to enable fuel marketers to differentiate their products and aid shelf/product life.
Description
Accountant will be responsible for:
- Production of the year end statutory financial statements
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
- Oversee the month end close process, ensuring the month end reporting is prepared accurately and on time.
- Preparation and input of accruals, prepayments and other journals
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and reconciling fixed asset additions/disposals
- Prepare margin analysis and other profitability indicators
- Liaising with other departments and being the point of contact for any financial based queries for the wider business.
- Ad hoc analysis and resolution of accounting queries
- To continuously review and improve work processes and the levels of service provided, maintaining a close liaison with principal customers (internal and external) and suppliers
- To support the Finance Controller with ad-hoc tasks for the general financial management of the business and assisting with audit queries.
Project resourcing:
- Contribution to finance-led projects
- Provide value-added service to initiatives run by other functions ed. prepare project economics, participate in shareholder audits, risk assessments and self-assessments
- Training and coaching of business users relating to finance processes and controls
Profile
Essential:
- Newly qualified
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong systems exposure
- High level of financial awareness with sustained exposure to an operational finance department
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
Preferred:
- Systems exposure: SAP, Advanced Excel skills, BW data warehouse
- German/Spanish speaker
- US GAAP experience
- Manufacturing background
- First time mover (Practice or Industry)

£36,000 - £42,000 per annum plus additional benefits including Private health care, 25 days holidays, 10% performance bonus
