Financial Controller

My client, an international British retailer with an excellent branded reputation, is looking to recruit a pro-active, qualified Financial Controller. The role will have full ownership of statutory reporting and FP&A for UK & Europe and requires someone who is able to think commercially as well as manage the technical requirements.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, this key role involves managing and developing a capable team (circa 10) to cover statutory reporting, period end management accounts and FP&A. The role will also involve, Group consolidation, board reporting, Process Improvement and People Management and Development. As the business continues to expand at pace, this role will involve ad hoc project work.

To be the successful candidate you must be a qualified accountant with a strong work track record to date. The Head of Finance is looking for someone who is technically competent with a proficient knowledge of IFRS who is also commercially minded enough to work with stakeholders around the business. It is crucial that you are pro-active, personable, solution-orientated and a real team player as personality fit is key. Reporting and FP&A experience within retail or consumer businesses is preferred and team management experience is essential.
