Senior Finance Manager / Finance Director

Building on recent growth and success in the market, our client – a leading boutique Residential House Builder are now looking to appoint a commercially minded Group Financial Controller / Finance Director reporting directly to the CFO (effectively their No.2). The business is adapting and changing quickly to market demands and have a clear strategic plan to continue their growth.

This new role is an important part of the corporate plan and strategy. The role will involve working closely with the senior management team including the CFO. This role would suit a Senior Finance Manager looking to step up or an existing FD / Financial Controller with a commercial approach looking to take the next step in their career with the scope to quickly become the Head of Finance in the near future. Someone with commercial ability, drive and ambition is important as the CFO is looking at succession planning so the right candidate is likely to be promoted to the 'top job' in the future.

The role is based in the South East where my client has two offices around the M25 so there is flexibility to be based South or North London depending on where you live. Flexible home-working is also available.

The business has proven success with a dynamic, friendly and supportive working environment. Would suit a professional that wants to move from a large house-builder / construction company into a smaller / medium sized boutique builder with a nicer working environment / culture and greater opportunity to influence and progress. Would also suit someone who doesn't want to travel into central London everyday with the ability to drive to work with free parking available and easily located on the M25.

Person Requirements

- Specific house-building, construction or development sector experience

- Experience of group accounting, commercial finance, contract valuations, analytics, business unit performance and land appraisals

- CIMA or ACA qualified (preferably from a top 4 practice)

- Senior Finance Manager / FD / Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting experience

- A finance professional with a commercial mind and approach - someone who wants to progress quickly and make an impact

- Committed, enthusiastic and energetic with the drive and determination to succeed and adapt

- Capability to lead and progress within the business

- Commercially fluid role

- The post holder will have lots of responsibility, flexibility and ability to determine their focus and how they operate.

Excellent career progression is on offer with a fast-track to Head of Finance. Salary commensurate with a market leading role £65-85k salary (dependent on experience), bonus + corporate benefits on offer.
