An internationally recognised Fashion retailer are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join their London based head office. Working as part of the Group Financial Reporting team, the Group Financial Accountant in London will cover a range of activities, including monthly computation, analysis and review of group consolidated inventory balances and assistance with year-end statutory group reporting.

Group Financial Accountant main duties and responsibilities:

Monthly analysis and review

  • Responsibility for co-ordination of regional inventory submissions, for monthly reporting, quarterly forecast and budgeting.
  • Computation of unrealised profit in inventory elimination, for both monthly reporting and quarterly forecast and budgeting
  • Analytical review of monthly group consolidated inventory balances and associated activities
  • Review and analysis of specific group consolidated balance sheet accounts and preparation of specific note disclosures for the group consolidated statutory accounts

Statutory Reporting

  • Review of regional year end submissions
  • Review and analysis of specific group consolidated balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of specific note disclosures for the group consolidated statutory accounts
  • Performing consistency and accuracy checks on draft group consolidated statutory accounts
  • Liaison with external auditors where necessary
  • Preparation of schedules for Audit Committee papers as required

Ad hoc tasks

Involvement in project work as required, including research and preparation of technical accounting papers; accounting policy manual; step plans; general business support.

Requirements for the role

  • Qualified accountant - ACA or equivalent
  • Proven IFRS experience
  • Experience with group consolidation accounting and systems
