Job Title: Financial Controller / Finance Manager 12 Month FTC

Ref: VLL/18021

Location: Chepstow

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

Duration: 1 year contract

Hours: Full time or part time hours can be accommodated

Purpose of the role:

Working under the guidance of the Managing Director your responsibilities will include overseeing a finance team of 6, cash flow management and producing the monthly management reports for the external accountant.

Specific duties will include:

  • Acquiring authorisation and processing timely payments to suppliers
  • Solving queries and any discrepancies within sales and purchase ledgers including foreign currency accounts
  • Cashflow forecasting/reporting
  • Produce aged creditor and debtor analysis
  • Credit control
  • Check expense and mileage claims and process monthly
  • Daily bank postings reconciliation
  • Manage credit card expenditure and reconcile monthly
  • Manage the petty cash and reconcile monthly
  • Provide support for the payroll processing if necessary
  • Assist with development of effective financial processes and controls
  • Liaison with external accountant on a monthly basis to produce monthly management reports

Skills and experience required:

  • Understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including double entry bookkeeping
  • Qualified or Qualified by experience
  • Available to start Jan/Feb 2017
  • Experience of working within an all-round accounting role within an SME
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Friendly, cheerful with a calm and professional disposition
  • Confident in using Word and Outlook and computerised accounting software
  • Intermediate Excel skills to include pivot tables, basic formulas & V-Lookups
  • Happy to work as part of a small team but also able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, written, verbally and face to face
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet monthly deadlines
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Experience using Sage 200 Accounts advantageous
