My client is looking for a Chief Accounting Officer with a background in Asset management. This is a 12 month contract initially. This role is paying £400-£500 per day.
This role has huge potential for the right individual, an excellent opportunity to start your New Year with. You will be working with a group of Asset Management firms which are subsidiaries of my client.
Role Purpose of the Chief Accounting Officer:
- Heading the Accounting team of the relevant firms with an onshore and offshore team.
- You will be responsible for the financial accounting in all aspects, this includes closing the books, and statutory accounts.
- The job holder has the final responsibility for regulatory returns which relate to the financial performance or Risk weighted assets of the companies.
- Business partnering with subject matter experts in risk and other finance functions
- The team is part of the wider finance team, the CAO is expected to run independently larger projects in his area to improve processes and procedures.
- Interpreting new financial reporting requirements and designing the associated external disclosures
- Implementing the necessary control environment to provide assurance over financial information included in external publications (including analytical review and other appropriate procedures)
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified financial accountant with an audit firm (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in financial accounting of a financial institution
- Experience to manage on- and offshore teams
- Strong business partnering skills
- Business knowledge in Asset Management products
- Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Able to explain complex issues in simple, understandable terms.
- Proven record of managed changes
- Team player who is able to persuade stakeholders of recommended changes
