Global Property Services Group which is listed on the London Stock Exchange has offices throughout Americas, the UK, continental Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East and provides a broad range of specialist advisory, management and transactional services to clients all over the world.
The company requires a European Risk Consultant/contractor for an initial 6 month period to help support the increase in workload .The Group offers the right individual a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the ongoing development and growth of their European businesses. It is not expected that the Contractor will undertake large amounts of travel to the European offices. It is likely to be day trips as and when required.
Reporting to the European Risk Director as part of a small management team the European Risk Consultant/contractor role will include the following:
• Provide support to Director across areas of risk management and compliance across Europe
• Review of the annual SAQ submissions from the countries, identify and agree actions
• Review and summarise the ‘Top Risks’ reporting
• Country visits to review processes
• Provide support to the countries for areas that have been identified as requiring input
• Ongoing tracking of open actions in relation to Internal Audit issues, SAQs and top Risks
• Co-ordination of other reporting submissions to Group
• Regular communication and liaison with Group risk and compliance and Group Internal Audit
• Provide support for the review and implementation of policies and procedures across the countries
• Involvement in strategic initiatives including financial modelling, analysis and due diligence
• Supporting the European central management team on ad-hoc projects
• Drive improvement in quality and efficiency of processes
Candidates applying for the European Risk Consultant/contractor role must have a combination of the following experience and personality:
• Graduate, Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or International equivalent)
• Internal audit or Risk background with experience aligned with business partnering and providing support than formal auditing – commercial exposure combined with an appetite for identifying and addressing risks is a must.
• Experience of working for an International business with subsidiaries across Europe
• Solid understanding of all Microsoft applications but specifically excel and the ability to develop basic financial models
• Technical accounting and IFRS knowledge and experience of dealing with relevant accounting issues
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work flexibly and adaptable to change - particularly when dealing with the range of different European offices
• Self-starter’ with high energy, initiative and diplomacy
• Displays business acumen and professionalism in dealing with all levels of the business including Executive Directors.
