Our client is a high-growth, award-winning private equity backed technology business. The newly appointed CFO is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take full ownership of day-to-day finance including all aspects of P&L reporting, balance sheet and cash management and review / improvement of financial controls / systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious company with ambitious growth plans on an international level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, document and embed scalable finance processes and controls in preparation for significant company growth, improve team efficiency and reduce reporting timelines.
  • Manage the month end close process and prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and Board pack (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs) including detailed commentaries.
  • Closely manage the cash and treasury function: including weekly and monthly multi-currency cash flow forecasting for payments to ferry operators, intercompany funding, bank accounts and FX hedges.
  • Monitor and model forward visibility of banking covenant compliance and other obligations under financing arrangements; including financial forecasting, working capital analysis and preparation of the quarterly bank covenant compliance certificate.
  • Calculate and prepare monthly payroll for processing by outsourced provider and payroll journals for monthly accounts. Manage the relationship with the company pension provider.
  • Assist the CFO in the preparation of operating budgets / re-forecasts.
  • Act as finance lead in finance transformation projects re: Group’s financial reporting, control and MIS systems to ensure timely, accurate data and analysis to support the quality of management decision making.
  • Ensure HMRC compliance including VAT returns, corporation and other tax returns/reporting.
  • Lead the annual audit process (including managing the preparation of the PBC list) and ensure all deliverables are produced (and filed) on a timely basis and in line with bank deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of developments in accounting standards and advise CFO and Board of their implications for the Group.

You will be a Qualified Accountant with a track record of achievement in businesses managing a high volume of multi-currency transactions. You must be technically strong with the ability to motivate others. You will have prior demonstrable experience of working within a fast-paced technology business. Prior experience of private equity is a distinct advantage.
