Finance Manager

Position: Commercial Finance Manager 
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire 
Job Type: Full time, permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 
Salary: £Competitive up to 45k 
Benefits: 25 days + national holidays 
 

Our client is an Oxford based, technology company. They design and manufacture a unique product that automatically measures and records the pressure and tread depth of a vehicle’s tyres. In addition, it can assess the vehicle’s weight, load distribution, and tyre temperature. All that a vehicle has to do is: ‘Just Drive Over.’

About the Finance Manager role: 

The company is growing and require an experienced finance manager to help transform and take the company to the next level. This role reports directly into the Chief Executive and is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual who wants to make a difference. 

The ideal candidate will have a broad range of finance and commercial skills and will be an ambitious individual looking for an opportunity to develop their commercial acumen within a fast growing innovative company. Your responsibilities will include: 

- All aspects of accounting procedures 
- Controlling costs, and evaluating systems in place, including stock control, transport, pension, payroll arrangements and implementing the most cost effective way forward 
- Company secretary and ensuring the company meets all its responsibilities 
- Reviewing legal documents for client contracts and other commercial agreements 
- Fund raising and assisting with the preparation of grant applications 
- Credit control and supplier invoice approval 
- Ensuring compliance for overseas operations 

Essential skills: 

- CIMA or ACCA qualified with proven experience within a commercial environment 
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills 
- Excellent written and spoken English 
- Computer literate with good MS Office skills, including Excel 
- Problem-solving skills and initiative 
- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature 
- Have an analytical mind with strong numerical skills 
- Flexibility - willing to get involved in other aspects of the business. e.g. procurement, legal, contracts 
- Able to integrate effectively with a talented multi-disciplinary team 

Desirable skills: 

- Experience of company secretary and reviewing legal documents
