Group Accountant - Hampshire - £53k + £4,600 Car Allowance & competitive package


Wade MacDonald are working with a large Global manufacturing business who are highly regarded within their industry. They now require a Group Accountant to assist with group-wide budgeting, internal/external reporting and M&A, restructuring. This is a varied and intellectually stimulating role, representing an excellent opportunity for an ACA qualified Accountant looking for their first step into industry out of a top ten practice. The Group Accountant will take a lead role in the production of the companies group consolidated results to enable timely and accurate preparation of all external and internal reporting. The Group Accountant will also assist in the preparation of the Group Annual Report and UK statutory accounts under FRS102. The role will involve working closely with the Senior Finance Manager, Finance Director, and Finance teams from various business units. This is a brilliant opportunity for an astute accountant to further their career within industry.

Key Responsibilities:
*Consolidation of the Group's monthly financial results ensuring the production of robust and timely financial information to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
*Analytical review/reconciliation of key balance sheet and P&L areas ensuring potential issues are identified and resolved on a timely basis.
*Own and improve the Intercompany reconciliation process.
*Provide support & guidance to all the companies subsidiary finance groups on accounting issues and questions.
*Support the Chief Accountant in the preparation of the Group's Annual Report including supporting working documents and assisting with the external audit of these.
*Own the preparation of all UK subsidiary accounts.
*Own the tagging of all statutory accounts requiring tagging for UK taxation returns or submission to UK bodies.
*Liaison with the Taxation department to enable effective compliance, and appropriate information exchange regarding taxation computations and issues.
*Support the Chief Accountant on ad hoc projects as required.

The ideal Candidate will have:
*ACA qualified accountant 2 years PQE gained in practice. Or ACA qualified practice Accountant with 1- 2 years' experience within a large firm or in a similar Group accounting role.
*Educated to degree level.
*Experience of Group consolidation systems (ideally HFM or BPC) would be an advantage.
*Technically up to date on all IFRS accounting standards relevant for an international quoted group and a good awareness of other listing company reporting requirements.
*Experience of FRS 102.
*High level of competence with the Microsoft Office suite packages (most notably Excel).
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent attention to detail.
