My Client a Leading Media Business in London is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their head office team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Liaise with operations teams and budget holders in a timely fashion to maintain accurate trackers for month end journal postings.
  • Act as a first point of contact for business budget holders for ad hoc queries
  • Completion of ONS requirements on a monthly and quarterly basis, ensuring group deadlines are adhered to.
  • Liaise with Credit Control team to produce debtor reports, and assist in supervising debt collection process.
  • Liaise with Retail and Tech teams to ensure that quarterly stock takes can be monitored and sampled appropriately
  • Provide ad-hoc support for the Management Accountant and Financial Controller when required.
  • Assist the Management Accountant with the month end reporting cycle including the preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments, cost of sales and stock adjustment journals.
  • Assist in the completion of monthly P&L analysis of variances against outturn figures, liaising with business partners to provide detailed insight.
  • Assist in the production of monthly Management accounts and Business Review packs.
  • Take ownership of the production of accurate balance sheet reconciliations within attraction deadlines, identifying and investigating variances, and escalating these where necessary.
  • Assist the Management Accountant and Financial Controller during the yearly budget and forecast setting process, as well as 5 year business plans.
  • Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly VAT returns and assist with ad-hoc VAT queries as and when required.
  • Support the Management Accountant in monitoring and improving processes and controls across the business.
  • Support the Management Accountant with the preparation of information for both internal and external audit purposes, as well as corporate tax requirements.
  • Provide any unique ad-hoc analysis and project work as directed by Management accountant and/or Financial Controller.
