Senior Management Accountant, Commercial Real Estate - Our Client is an established, listed real estate investment company who currently invests in commercial real estate across the UK and Europe. They are growing rapidly and are very acquisitive. Their prestigious accounting team are now looking for a Senior Property Management Accountant.

 

The Role: Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and you will be required to fulfil the following duties:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts for various property portfolios (commercial) including balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
  • Preparing quarterly management accounts for board inclusion.
  • Cash flow forecasting.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and reporting.
  • Producing the annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasting.
  • Responsible for the accruals and prepayment calculations.
  • Analysing the budgets versus actuals and providing commentary on variances.
  • Performing period end reconciliations.
  • Liaising with managing agents in relation to any accounts queries (rents, service charges and so forth).
  • Responsible for the supplier payment processing and controls.
  • Monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Overseeing more junior members of the accounting team.

 

The Person: To apply, you will have at least 3 years' management accounting / reporting experience gained from a property organisation. You must hold an accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA have all the relevant experience. Sound Excel skills are needed and experience of a property management system will be highly advantageous. You will be self-motivated and have the ability to work on your own as well as part of a team with a 'can-do' attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will be working with various people both internally and externally. It would be highly beneficial if you are available at short notice. This is a good chance to work for a warm and friendly organisation, which is very rewarding and constantly growing.
