An extremely successful property business based in the LS8 area of North Leeds is looking to recruit a permanent Bookkeeper for their expanding team.

Responsibilities include:

* Accounts receivable
o Invoicing tenants, ensuring an accurate invoicing system is in place
o Chasing late payments and advising an approach to ensure recovery of late payments.
o Reporting bad debts
o Reconciliation of debtors report to sales ledger control account
o Preparation of weekly arrears list
o Maintaining up - to date database of rents

* Accounts payable
o Ensure all invoices received are accurate and correct as per prices agreed/contract agreements/meter readings.
o Prepare payments.
o Reconciliation of creditors reports to purchase ledger control account

* Reconciling bank statements for all accounts
* Checking monthly/ quarterly bank loan interest charges
* Maintain petty cash records
* Account reconciliations and recharges (service charge)
* Preparation and submission of Company VAT returns
* Liaising with managing agents on larger properties ensuring purchase and sales ledgers are accurate, arrears are up to date. Reconciliation of quarterly returns from managing agents including float accounts/ bank accounts
* Importing large data files into Sage Line 50
* Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT, PAYE and pension schemes and submitting to the authorities as per requirement e.g. quarterly and monthly submissions including nominal ledger reconciliations.
* Assist with Management Accounts, year-end Accounts & Schedules in preparation for Audit

We are ideally looking for candidates with strong experience in Bookkeeping with an understanding of the various tasks involved within a busy accounts function. You may have been working as an Accounts Assistant or of similar position and having the relevant experience showing in the detail above.
