We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller/Finance Director designate to join a privately owned expanding business in Suffolk on a permanent basis.
This is a varied Financial Controller role managing a reasonable sized team within a well-respected business experiencing growth and change. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will be hands on in developing the team, adopting a business partnering approach to finance across all areas and developing the departments financial processes and controls.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Controlling finance function and effectively managing a reasonable sized team including purchase ledger, credit control and payroll
- Handling corporation tax matters as well as the completion of the company VAT returns
- Process and controls improvement
- Preparation and management of annual budget, compiling and consolidating the overall results and communicating to the business
- Present and communicate to the Board on budgets, profit and loss, variance analysis and ongoing financial performance
- Liaising with external auditors for completion of the annual audit
Key skills and experience:
- You will be professionally qualified with relevant and solid post qualification experience
- It is essential to have excellent management skills and leadership qualities, proven interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels whilst working under pressure
- You will have strong attention to detail and the ability to make decisions and judgment calls as needed
- Experience of managing in a fast paced finance department
