Robertson Bell Finance are currently working with a Norfolk based Council to recruit an Internal Audit Manager to join their growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a Council who are recognised for their great reputation and quality service.
Reporting into the Head of Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for leading the audit team in planning, conducting and delivering a range of audits. Working alongside the Councils audit and quality manuals, you will be fundamental in continuing the high client satisfaction previously established. You will be required to identify risks and lead on devising audit plans, including ongoing support and advice for specific clients. The Internal Audit team is currently made up of twelve audit professionals of which you will provide direct management of circa four and supervision of the wider audit function.
The successful candidate will ideally be a CCAB qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a thorough understanding of the audit cycle and internal control concepts. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and become a central part of the audit team. Demonstrable management/ supervisory experience will be key in being considered for this opportunity. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential and a further understanding of Public Sector or specifically Local Authority principles will be hugely beneficial.
