My client is a major PLC and well-known brand based in Greater Manchester.
A new vacancy has arisen for an outstanding Manager or Senior Manager from Practice looking for their first move into industry to join as a divisional Financial Controller.
Applicants must have significant PLC client experience and therefore Big4/Top 10 trained ACA’s are a definite preference.
This is the ideal springboard for someone looking to make their first transition into industry with an employer with a proven history of promoting from internally and developing and progressing talent within this business.
Playing to your technical strengths, this role will take responsibility for the Financial Control and Governance environment for this large division of a hugely successful PLC.
Your accounting practice experience will position you well to ensure that strict adherence to accounting standards is followed and to develop a culture of thorough review and challenge. You will also take overall responsibility for keeping accounting policies and standards up to date.
Reporting direct to the UK Finance Director, this role will be an integral part of the Finance function with plenty of exposure at board level including to the CFO.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
• Review and challenge KPI’s
• Challenge working practices against best practice
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
• Develop and maintain a world class control environment
• Manage and motivate your team
• Keep up to date with developments in accounting standards
• Aid the implementation of finance projects and ensuring accounting standards are adhered to at all times
• Review the structure and content of Accounting Papers
Applicants must be practice trained ACA or CA qualified with a driven, determined and tenacious approach accompanied by a strong academic track record. We are looking for high flying individuals capable of stepping into senior leadership roles in the future therefore only truly ambitious candidates need apply.
