Well-regarded, expanding national housebuilder is currently looking to appoint a Management Accountant to produce high-quality, divisional management information.

This newly-created role reports directly to the Divisional Finance Director, and will also work very closely with the Divisional Managing Director.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for the flow of accurate and timely financial and management information between the Regional businesses, the Division and the Group Finance teams.  Information will need to be produced in a standard format from each Region, be analysed and consolidated accurately and delivered to (primarily) internal customers.

Key accountabilities for the Management Accountant include:

  • Liaising with the Regional Finance, Regional Senior Management and Central Services teams to oversee, produce and analyse Financial and Management information within required deadlines.
  • Monitoring Divisional performance against operational management plans, budgets & forecasts.
  • Producing weekly insightful KPI reports with input from the Regional businesses. 
  • Checking the consistency and accuracy of the Monthly Operational reporting pack, providing analysis and insight as to the businesses drivers.
  • Monthly rolling forecast consolidation and analysis.

The Management Accountant will also be responsible for:

  • Working with the Regional Finance teams, standardising weekly and monthly reporting and agreeing the implementation schedule with the Regional teams.
  • Designing and creating a Divisional dashboard to capture Divisional KPIs and ensuring it can be efficiently updated on a regular basis. 
  • Designing and developing additional analysis to help understand current business performance, identifying best practice and giving insight to Senior Business leaders.
  • Monitoring the accuracy of data entered by the Regional teams and, if required, requesting corrections to ensure reporting integrity.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis as required by the Divisional Managing Director & Divisional Finance Director.

In addition the Management Accountant will:

  • Carry out ad hoc customer, contractor & land analysis as required.
  • Provide an escalation channel for clarification of requirements from the Regional businesses.
  • Represent the Division on agreeing and developing reporting requirements with Group Finance.
  • Document key reporting processes and templates to help ensure a consistent approach from each Region.

Suitable applicants will:

  • Be Fully Qualified, Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience
  • Have proven experience of working with Financial & Management Information systems
  • Have strong data manipulation and spreadsheet skills
  • Have the ability to manage stakeholder expectations
  • Have the ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the business and within the Division & Group at all organisational levels
  • Be a self-starter and have a hands-on, can do approach
