My global client based in Uxbridge is looking for a Bid Finance Manager.
This an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bid Finance manager who will lead the bid finance function. The role will support with the development and delivery of the overall financial bid strategy and drive the role out of this across the business ensuring we deliver compelling and winning bid solutions to clients to support the delivery of our sales targets.
This is a national role so the location of the successful candidate is flexible.
Main Responsibilities as a Bid Finance Manager
The successful candidate will be from a facilities management background and will play the role of an experienced Commercial Manager/Deal Architect on strategic / major Business & Industry bids, leading the pricing and commercial construction of complex sales opportunities. You will train and develop other sales and bid managers to acquire the key skills required to successfully price and complete appropriate winning commercial propositions and work with the central finance teams in each channel to facilitate timely and successful approvals to the appropriate authorisation levels.
The role is responsible for estimating, reviewing and challenging bid requirements, reviewing risks and opportunities and undertaking modelling, costing, pricing, financial modelling activity, including building and maintaining appropriate cost models to assist all sales people and operators to establish realistic and accurate bid cost submissions on their tenders across Compass, and if successful you will develop and communicate standard estimating methodologies, rules and guidelines across business channels and determine the company wide approach to profitability and contractual negotiations.
The Ideal Candidate for Bid Finance Manager
The role requires an advanced level of Excel and current demonstrable usage. You will have strong commercial acumen and be able to ensure the financial integrity of bids and create bid-winning strategies which balance commercial viability with customer requirements. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate must have an exceptional understanding of bid management tools and techniques.
You will have demonstrable experience in the creation of business cases and financial models to support the economic and financial aspirations of the business and be must be comfortable working across a number of business functions including Business Operations, Finance, Product Management, Legal & Contract Management, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Pricing and Bid Management. Due to the broad range of interactions, both internal and external excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral and you will have good interpersonal and team skills and proven leadership ability.
You must be a team player, able to lead where appropriate as well as mentor, coach and develop others and be highly self-motivated and proactive with the desire to add value through sound commercial and financial input.
Desirable skills as a Bid Finance Manager
- Formal finance qualifications are desirable but not essential for the role
- At least 2 years in an equivalent Commercial Management/Deal Architect or similar role.
- The ability to define, articulate and negotiate within the context of internal and/or customer business strategy.
- Working knowledge of food - based complex and cross sector outsourcing scenarios
- Be capable of, and comfortable with, direct interaction with customers
Package for a Bid Finance Manager is 60k plus 10% bonus and car allowance.
