Management Accountant (Overheads and Capital)

Role summary:

This is a great opportunity to join our Overheads and Capital team, who are responsible for providing support to all Functional and Regional Overhead cost centres in the management and reporting of P&L, headcount, and capital. You'll be a valued member of the team, responsible for between two and four cost centres dependent on their size. You’ll report into the Financial Controller – Overheads and Capital and work alongside two other Overheads and Capital professionals.

What you'll be doing:

• Working closely with Cost Centre heads/Budget Holders within the function to produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and other reporting including P&L, variance analysis, headcount and risks & opportunities.

• Running the quarterly reforecast process and producing required outputs.
• Supporting the functional head with their monthly validation of forecast activities.
• Production of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and budgets in conjunction with functional heads.
• Involvement in the capital approval process, including providing first line support to business case preparation.
• Supporting financial tracking and projects, including providing appropriate challenge to assumptions.
• Improving financial control and financial management, including identification and realisation of savings with functional heads.
• Ad-hoc project work and analysis as directed by the Financial Controller – Overheads and Capital.
• Involvement in relevant systems projects.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in areas under your control.

What we're looking for: 

• Relevant accounting qualification, preferably ACCA or CIMA. We will also consider finalists.

• Management accounting expertise including preparation and presentation of management information, budgeting and forecasting.

• Effective communication and influencing skills including the ability to challenge and question others effectively.

• Enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude.

• Experience of working in a fast-paced, growing environment.

• Team player.

• IT experience, preferably including SAP, Cognos, and Excel.

Security Clearance is required for this vacancy. If you are not currently Security Cleared, you will need to be eligible for this and willing to go through the process.
