My Local Government Client based in Manchester City Centre is looking for an Interim Finance Manager for a 6 month contract due to an increased workload.

The main duties will include:

- Providing a comprehensive financial advice & support service to Operational Managers
- Budget setting & monitoring
- Closing accounts at Year End
- Attendance at Board meetings with Senior Officers
- Supporting Managers across the Directorate to achieve significant further savings

Experience / Qualifications required:

- Ideally Qualified Accountant with several years PQE
- Good working knowledge of Local Government Finance
- Detailed knowledge of financial analysis and modelling including preparation & reviewing of business plans
- Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for Accountancy
- Understanding of Accounting principles & techniques, including appreciation of the CIPFA Accounting Code of Practice for Local Government & Accounts & Audit Regulations

This role will give you the opportunity to develop your career within Local Government Finance and it is highly likely to last longer than 6 months.
