Finance Director

Our client is a high growth, leading e-commerce business that has enjoyed impressive sales and profit growth year on year. To date, the business has grown largely without external funding but is about to complete a growth capital fundraise to enable it to commence its next phase of expansion. The business is looking for a commercially astute Finance Director to ensure overall effective financial management and reporting, and actively contribute towards the financial planning and strategic growth of the company.

Working alongside the two founding Directors, the FD will not only be an exceptional accountant and hands-on with the company finances, but will also be commercially aware. The role of the FD has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy and is expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on these findings, with the most profitable outcomes.

Often managing and leading a team through difficult periods including month end, year end and annual budgeting, the ideal candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, and will be required to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets.

In its current period of change and growth, the ideal candidate will be able to coordinate corporate finance and manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation and further funding as appropriate.

Applicants will be fully qualified with demonstrable experience operating in a senior role in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business. They will be technically strong, commercially aware and an effective business partner. They should be looking to play a key role in the delivery of a robust finance structure to support significant growth in the coming years.
