A leading consumer business, based in West London, is currently looking for a strong Statutory Accountant to join them for a 6 month contract.


The Group statutory accountant is responsible for preparing high quality financial statements for multiple entities in compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101 & FRS 102) and industry standards on a quarterly and annual basis.

The role requires evaluation of current procedures and the design and execution of improvements to ensure highly accurate reporting in an efficient and timely manner.

Meticulous planning and attention to detail is essential.

Key accountabilities

Year end

  • Prepare and finalise all group consolidated and subsidiary statutory accounts to best in class standards and timelines under IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101 & FRS 102)
  • Execute a year end plan and provide clear guidelines and deadlines to territories for submission of year end results.
  • Prepare and edit group templates for new reporting requirements
  • Managing all queries (both internal and external) relating to the year end process.
  • Develop a good working relationship with the auditors (Group and overseas) ensuring a smooth and timely completion of the preparation and approval of financial statements,
  • Prepare the year-end audit backup schedules and ensure these are reviewed and approved in a timely manner such that Group reporting is completed in a timely manner as agreed by the audit committee.


Technical accounting

  • Keep up to date with changes in technical accounting standards IFRS that are relevant to the group business and report to management the implications and deadlines for implementation.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers with all implications considered, leading to a clear and precise conclusions.


External Reporting

  • Help prepare quarterly interim statutory accounts for use in the corporate reporting of the group's listed bonds.
  • Work with group reporting manager to ensure information for the listed bond reporting is reviewed and fully coordinated.



Knowledge, & Experience


Essential

  • Fully ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Excellent working knowledge of IFRS including transition from one framework to another.
  • Experience reporting under multiple frameworks.
  • Proven experience preparing statutory accounts for a multi currency/ territory business
