This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded individual with exceptional technical expertise to join a company that is a market leader in its field. You will lead and energise a team of two (qualified) direct and four indirect reports. The Financial Controller will be able to drive performance within their team, ensuring robust accounting and control, and dealing with queries.
Every day will be varied, and you will be supported by a strong team. Typical duties could include:
- Overseeing the delivery of management accounts.
- Supporting the development the financial reporting pack & control.
- Liaising with auditors and managing audit cycles.
- Supporting in the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Acting as the representative for the business unit at regular meetings, providing commentary and understanding of financial performance.
You will be the key link between the Finance function and non-finance business units; travelling (UK wide) one day a week, you will provide strategic support surrounding business plans. As a result of this you will have excellent relationship building skills, acting as a true business partner. You will always be on the lookout for new ways to develop and improve processes, and will be able to present these ideas to the board.
If you have a problem solving mind, and the desire to work within a fun, collaborative environment this could be the ideal role for you. You MUST have a strong technical accounting and control background, and will need to hold an accounting qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA) ideally having trained within practice. You will need to be able to show your ability to lead and develop teams and demonstrate your commitment and desire for challenge.
