Role summary

We are looking for a commercially aware part qualified accountant to join our high performing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager you will work with a variety of stakeholders, including senior members of the finance team to deliver monthly reporting and support for one of the fastest growing Divisions in BAE Systems.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting activities:

• Producing monthly/quarterly analysis and reporting outputs as required (Group reporting schedules, Board Report, Quarterly Business Review pack).

• HFM input for reporting into BAE Systems Group Finance and production of draft Monthly Management Report (MMR).

• Support the reporting of intercompany with wider BAE Group and liaise with Finance Services (FS) provider to address mismatches.

• Responsibility for the Corporate Cost Centre (including monthly reporting / Planning & Forecasting).

• Support the monthly Orderbook reconciliation process.

• Review 4 week cash forecast provided by FS and drive improvements in process.

• Ad-hoc analysis as required.

 • You will acquire an in-depth knowledge of each business unit’s business model, the countries that they operate in and the solutions that they offer.

Financial Control activities:

• Balance sheet reconciliations for Consolidation Companies.

• Support internal and external audit process through preparation of required documentation and analysis as required.

• Maintaining robust financial controls in your area of responsibility.

Other:

• Ad-hoc systems improvement work and projects.

• Support the Planning team as required.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Part qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA

• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills

• Demonstrable technical accounting skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• A delivery focus and track record of meeting deadlines

• The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

Desirable:

• Systems experience, preferably with SAP / HFM / Cognos

• Experience of dealing with complex Multi-currency consolidations

• Relevant industry experience
