Commercial Accountant

This FMCG company is looking for a commercial accountant to partner with their sales team to deliver the channel sales plan, budget & forecast through generating detailed and insightful analysis, commentary and challenge to support commercial decisions.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Accountant the role will be required to provide a forward looking outlook on the P&L and to identify and drive revenue and margin enhancing opportunities and support negotiations with the strategic customers making recommendations and setting parameters.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensures that the budget owners understand and adopt the right methodology, tools and templates (includes training), developing specific planning, budgeting & forecasting tools and templates if required.
• Identifies capability improvement opportunities and proposes initiatives to drive advancement on the capability maturity staircase.
• Support Pricing and Marketing Analysts in maintaining accurate and appropriate accruals for the relevant customers.
• Meet with our strategic customers from time to time.

The ideal candidate for this role must have:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel & SAP skills
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with substantial experience in a business partner role
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills with a proven record of influencing stakeholders
• Exceptional time management skills, to confidently manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Strong team player
• FMCG experience would be an advantage
