Finance Manager

Badenoch & Clark are partnering a leading insurance business located in Haywards Heath for the recruitment of a Finance Manager who will be responsible for the day to day running of the transactional accounting team. Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance you will be tasked with managing the payments, bordereaux and credit control teams. As Finance Manager you will lead a team of 20 people therefore previous management experience is essential. Due to the nature of the role you must have had experience of supervising both payments and credit control staff. You will have ideally worked within insurance or financial services industries (or a blue chip/shared service centre environment).

Key responsibilities:

* Responsible for managing a team of 20 staff
* Manage the creditor and debtor books.
* Actively contribute to reducing the DSO.
* Manage the Borderaux department.
* Responsible for account reconciliations and managing the invoicing process.
* Ensure payments are collected in line with SLA's.
* Responsible for journal entry and allocating payments.
* Set credit control targets.
* Responsible for managing queries and the escalation process.
* Lead and drive improvements to existing processes and procedures.
* Responsible for the production of management reports.
* Be involved (where necessary) with transformation projects, systems projects and any strategic plans.

Due to the nature of the role you will ideally match the following:

* Experience of managing/supervising a large team
* Credit control and sales ledger background
* Previously worked within insurance or financial services
* Excellent reconciliations skills
