Financial Controller - Letchworth Garden City£55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Our client is a well-established specialist with reputation for quality and innovation and a real employers of choice in the local area looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join them on an initial Fixed Term Contract covering Maternity Leave.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts including accounting for wages and pensions, balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variance to budget and rolling forecast within set deadline
- Maintain rolling forecast
- Monitor budgets for all departments and liaise with department heads to ensure they say within strategic plan and rolling forecast
- Ensure timely close of all ledgers
- Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
- Production of annual statutory accounts and all associated lead schedules
- Daily and monthly cash flow management including trading in foreign currency, internet banking and forecasting
- Oversee and authorise correct use of banking systems
- Oversee KPI management for all KPI schemes
- Oversee monthly payroll spreadsheet production and year end payroll reporting
- Promote continuous improvement by developing and improving the processes and procedures around the creation of monthly management accounts
- Assist in strategic development and investment appraisal
The successful candidate will be an immediately available ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant with previous experience doing a similar role within a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will be able to analyse and interpret data effectively as well as having advanced Excel Skills.
