A well established SME based in Hertford are seeking a Cost Accountant on a permanent basis. The primary objective of the role is to ensure that the company is costing and billing contracts accurately and profitably, and that management are provided with information that enables good commercial decision-making in respect of these areas.
Key Cost Accountant responsibilities will include:
- Oversee accuracy of standing data on the costing system
- Provide backup to the contracts manager on the costing of large contracts
- Capital justification - prepare justifications for large scale asset purchases
- Client invoicing
- Support the Financial Accountant in the preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Analysis of client / project profitability
Your characteristics:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or overseas equivalent
- Experience of working with a manufacturing business
- Strong excel skills
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Technical financial system knowledge
- Excellent organisation skills and multitasking abilities
