Tax Manager

I am recruiting a Tax Manager for a global leading retailer and wholesaler who have an exceptional reputation within their industry and are based in South Essex.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller this newly created role will provide support to the UK and European Division of the Group with you being the number one go to person for Tax. You will ensure a high level of compliance and ensure that all systems and processes and robust enough to satisfy any audit or enquiry.

The role: -
• Manage the relevant tax exposure as well as adhering to local tax regulations
• Optimise the Group's overall tax exposure and cash flow
• Continuously review and develop internal systems and processes
• Prepare and submit all relevant tax and VAT returns including overseas tax returns
• Supervise submission of annual payroll returns including P11D's and PSA
• Manage external relationships such as HMRC

About you: -
• CTA / ATT qualified along with an accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA)
• Practice experience within a mid to large accountancy firm or taking first step out of practice essential
• Ability to explain and present a range of complex tax issues
• Experience using specific tax software
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels
