Systems Accountant

My client an international professional services firm who are seeking to recruit a Systems Accountant/Developer for their team on a permanent basis. This role will provide pivotal support to key system projects, implementation of system and vital system support. The role will be a key interface between IT and Finance.

Your duties shall include;

• Maintain all aspects of the system - hub setup, management of employee and their rate structure, table structures etc.
• Maintain and ensure data and database integrity along with synchronisation
• Maintain proper security around system access and facilitate security audits
• Analyse existing systems to identify where software configuration changes and/or process re-engineering will improve business practices and implement the improvement programs
• Analyse systems and improve process, including creating technical specifications and test plans
• Investigate system problems and provide solutions, avoiding disruption to the business and minimising downtime
• Maintain a high level of knowledge about all products, systems and procedures that relate to the accounting and finance process including the understanding of framework environment and the processes associated with it
• Be the support between the Finance department, Business Users and the IT department in regard to technical and maintenance related issues
• Provide 3rd line support & co-ordinate with the IT department for problem resolution and enhancements
• Write SQL queries to solve data issues by analysing the database
• Write SQL queries on the database to create reports for users
• Understand, manage and provide input for major upgrades to the Financial system
• Perform a central role in data migrations from company acquisitions to ensure 3rd Party Developers provide good quality data.
• Maintain system controls through proper IT change request procedure

The ideal candidate for this role shall be;

• Have 5 years Systems Accountant/Developer or Finance Business Analyst work experience
• Have experience of Aderant or Elite and worked within the LEGAL/Professional services Sectors
• SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), e.g. Developer rather than DBA skills
• SQL Programming & SQL Server Reporting Studio (SSRS)
• Either a degree in computing, scientific or numeric nature - or an accounting qualification
• Strong communication skills, approachable and a creative thinker
