THE COMPANY:

A well known and highly successful Doncaster based business are looking to a point a Purchase Ledger Supervisor for a brand new role due to angoing success.

THE JOB:

Reporing into the Financial Controller and supervising a team of Purchase Ledger Clerks you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Supervision of a growing team of finance administrators in the centralised finance department, processing purchase invoices and recording of receipts and payments across a number of businesses and systems for the group
  • Manage day-to day work-flow of the department, monitoring both quality and quantity of work, helping staff with problems and queries, identifying possible bottlenecks and developing issues
  • Maintain suitable cross-training and knowledge sharing to ensure there is adequate cover for holidays and the ability to cope with spikes in workload
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the different systems and processes in use
  • Adopt a continual improvement approach and assist in initiating and driving process change to improve efficiency and as the business needs develop
  • Maintain processes which monitor and ensure the efficiency of the department, and produce regular weekly reports to management
  • Ensure bank reconciliations and key supplier reconciliations are carried out in a timely manner
  • Monitor and review aged creditor reporting to ensure ledgers are kept tidy and up to date
  • Liaise with management accounting staff to ensure information required for month end and statutory accounting deadlines are met

THE PERSON:

You will be an effective communicator and leader able to motivate and develop those in your team. You will be a self starter not afraid to question current procedures and policies. Ideally, you will be a competent user of Excel.
